Does Christ Live in Me?

Does Christ Live in Me?

*This prayer devotional was written and submitted by Pedro Martinez*

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” — Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

What great words from the Apostle Paul! These words mean that it’s great to know that God’s Spirit lives within us! Once we accept Christ as Lord of our lives, He is in control. He is the Lord of our lives. The old things have passed, all is made new. We follow Him because we are grateful for what He has done for us. However, I find myself asking whether this reality is visible in our lives. Are we the image of Jesus? Do people see Jesus when they look at us? If we grow closer to Him daily, we will start to be more like Him. Meditating on His word and speaking to Him daily is the key to doing so.

MONDAY | Personal

Let us ask God that we shall always desire to seek Him. That we would make time to pray, which is to speak to Him, and read the Bible, in which we will find His will for our lives. Let us look at the world through Jesus, that He would be our lens.

TUESDAY | Finances

Today, we ask God to make us giving people. The money that He gives us is not all for us, it is for helping others. Christ came only to give, not to receive.

WEDNESDAY | Family

We should pray for our families, that they would be able to see Christ within us. Remember that deeds speak louder than words.

THURSDAY | Church

Pray for our Church, our congregation, which is the body of Christ. Let’s be willing to help each other when needed, as this job is not only for the pastor!

FRIDAY | Leaders

Lift up our leaders in prayer, the pastor in particular. Let us pray that Christ may be revealed through them via their lives and their example.

SATURDAY | Coworkers/Classmates

This is a difficult one. Let us pray that our coworkers and or classmates don’t see that we live, but rather that Christ lives in us. It’s easy to behave in a Christian manner in Church, but are we doing so at school/work or are we like everyone else?

SUNDAY | Lost Souls

Finally, let us pray for all who are not saved. The Great Commission is that we must tell all about Jesus. Let us pray that we can show Jesus to others via our actions and not just our words. Let them say “those people are different, I want what they have!”

New Year, New FIRE Prayer Life

New Year, New FIRE Prayer Life

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” – 1 Timothy 2:1-4

God is calling our church to grow deeper in prayer, not just for ourselves but for everyone.  This helps us to not only grow in our intimacy with Him but also assists us in our mission to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

This year, we want to use this blog to help YOU. We want to encourage your prayer life with God by providing teachings, invitations, prayer request tools and much more.

As we pray together this year, use this model to pray for the salvation of those who don’t yet know their savior.

  • PRAY THAT THE FATHER WOULD DRAW THEM TO JESUS:

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him” – John 6:44

  • BIND THE SPIRIT THAT BLINDS THEIR MINDS:

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” – 2 Corinthians 4:4

  • LOOSE THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION:

“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father’” – Romans 8:15

  • LOOSE THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION ON THEM:

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better” – Ephesians 1:17

Each week, we will provide different prayer themes with Scriptures selected for each day of the week. Whether you’re praying on your own or with a group, we know these guided prayers will help us all grow closer to Jesus.

  • Monday | Personal life

This Sunday we will kick off our annual 21-day prayer and fast. This can be as simple as fasting coffee, sweets, or even social media for 21-days and using that time to seek a deeper relationship with God. We’ll be right there with you, providing posts each day of the fast. Here’s to a new year and new fire in our prayer lives.
